Aji Sunte Ho......

Arjun is one of my favourite characters from the Mahabharatha and one trait of his which I really appreciate and have tried to practice is his ability to listen. It is believed that he could shoot his arrows in darkness due to his fantastic listening ability. Wow....wish everyone is able to develop and practice this skill. We certainly can reduce the noise pollution in the country. There are numerous workshops charging exorbitant fees to develop public speaking skills in people, but sadly there are insufficient such workshops to develop a very important trait LISTENING. The art of listening is different from hearing. The problem is most of us listen only to respond, to judge or only to the words spoken. Selective listening is another issue for misunderstanding and poor communication. Conflicts are inevitable when such listening is practiced. Sisterhood

On this beautiful day dedicated to woman across the world, I felt it appropriate to write on a very important relationship we woman share, that of sisterhood. Thankfully I am blessed to enjoy this relationship by being a sister and by having many sisters to look upto for inspiration and support. First on the list is my own dearest sister from whom I have learnt a lot. She assumed the role of a protector since the day we lost our father and till date I feel the comfort of her protection in every situation. When she is around I do not have to worry about taking any decision as she knows what needs to be done in the best interest of all. We do have our sibling disagreements even today but what is the joy of being a sister if there are no fights over clothes and stationery and trivial matters. Not only I look upto her for inspiration but every friend of mine since school days looks upto her till date. The respect they have for Lakshmidi fills me with pride till date.
